About this site

Site design done by me, I feel I must explain it though as many people respond, in a really squirmy type voice I might add, "It's so grey, can't you put a bit more colour in it!". Well here is my reason:

The grey represents people, the fact that we are not simply black and white, that we have many grey areas, some areas are grey even to ourselves. The small splashes of colour represent the things in our lives that make looking at life all the more worthwhile.

If that makes at least one person go, "Ahh... That's cool!" Then I'll be a happy camper.

All XHTML, CSS and DOM/ JavaScript has been coded by me from scratch.

I also built this site using web standards, it validates as XHTML 1.0 Transitional. Peep the little icon thingy's your site doesn't have, but could if you hire me (Hint! Hint!).

Valid XHTML 1.0! Valid CSS!

Basically what makes my site's front end so much better than yours, if you're not using web standards, is that I have defined a structure for my HTML documents and that structure is here to stay, at least till everyone is using a browser that fully supports XHTML 2.0, which is a way, way away!

I can change my whole web site's look and feel by creating whatever graphics I need and simply changing 2 files, the CSS file and the DOM script.

My web site has four separate look and feels, one for browsers that fully support web standards and DOM Level 2, one for browsers that don't support DOM Level 2 but support CSS Level 2, one look for printing my web site and one for browsers that support none of these standards.

In short anyone with a computer or peripheral device that has internet access and a web browser can view my web site in one way or another and get a descent user experience. This type of site design/ build is defined by the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) as "Gracefull Transformation".

Want me to code you up a web site that can be accessed, maintained and changed this easily? My contact details are at the top of the page.
